The Seattle U Bay Area Chapter will be hosting a Fall Day of Service on Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. – 12 noon at Medshare. Medshare is a nonprofitorganization dedicated to improving the environment and healthcare through the efficient recovery and redistribution of surplus medical supplies and equipment to underserved healthcare facilities in developing countries.
Volunteers will be responsible for sorting and boxing donated medical supplies. The supplies are sorted into broad categories and then into boxes of specific items.
No medical background is necessary. The sorting is not physically strenuous but we do spend much of the session on our feet. Closed-toe shoes are required and we recommend layers of comfortable clothing as the warehouse facility can be dusty and the temperature varies according to the weather outside.
